About Armitage Village
This community was a product of the last of the boom years in late 1980's and as it was being completed it fell prey to the falling market.
With the economy booming while these homes were being marketed, money seemed to be no object so lot sizes we're  very generous with 50 ft frontages and the homes were mostly large models with huge kitchens, ceramics and hardwood , curved staircases and loads of bathrooms.
The early purchasers paid  dearly for these homes and the last purchasers reaped the benefit of the falling prices during those bad economic times of the early early 90's.
The Neighbourhood is well laid out with lots of curving crescents  and courts.  There were 4 main builders in this area, Beaverbrook , Townwood, Greenpark  and Regal  Crest Homes.
The Neighbourhood sides onto a natural protected ravine on the east and adjoins the northern border of St Andrews valley Golf course, which can be seem from many of the homes backing onto that open ravine.  On the west is the hustle and bustle of Yonge St with all the conveniences of large and small stores and businesses, as well as fast food.
Armitage Village has it's own Public Elementary School within it's
boundaries, and is also very convenient to the Catholic Elementary  and Public High School just across Yonge St.
The homes in this area show definite pride of ownership and must boast many green thu
mbs, judging by the lovely landscaping that's evident during the summer months.
There are the larger detached homes as well as
a mix of both freehold and condominium townhomes on the  south and west boarder, with a small enclave of luxury style semi detached on the far south border overlooking the ravine that forms the border between the Towns of Newmarket
and Aurora.
It's a very family oriented community with a mix of many ages and backgrounds.
It would be a great place to call home for someone with a large family looking for some space.
